The Cooperative Research Network (CRN) is a collective effort among scholars, committed intellectuals, and community activists to build Black studies on the dual goals of "Academic Excellence and Social Responsibility." The CRN is organized into networks of intellectuals, who share a common research focus, and who share resources and the results of their research as part of the professionalization of Black studies activities.
The Malcolm X Work Group (MXWG) is part of the CRN. Our efforts are to maintain a critical dialogue between serious students of Malcolm X, to assist in preserving documents and other material, and to publish material including a newsletter. Other CRN work groups exist on the Afro-American Novel, Black Mississippians, and Black Presidential Politics in the South.
